Karen Kiester,
Vision Improvement, Reiki, Bach Flower Treatments

I actively started my quest to naturally improve my vision in January of 2002. Prior to that I had gotten a book on natural vision improvement, although I found the book very interesting it wasn’t enough. Sometime in 2001, I met Tom Quackenbush at a health fair in Ashland , Oregon and picked up his materials. I thought a class would be a better way for me to go.

Prior to studying vision improvement I was gifted with Reiki. In early 1994, a co-worker began studying Reiki and I observed profound positive changes in her. She rapidly took the levels of training and became a Master. In December 1994, she offered her first Level 1 class and I took it, mostly to support her. A few months later I found myself taking some Advil and marveled that I could not remember the last time I had taken Advil. This was amazing as I had taken Advil daily for tension headaches for years!  It was then that I knew there was something about Reiki that was working for me.

I took my Level 2 training in August 1996, and my Master’s training in March 1999. I have had a number of profound experiences while sharing the gift of Reiki through classes and sessions. And I now offer a form that uses earth energy, which I term Gaia Reiki. And also incorporating the earth’s elemental energies of: fire, air, water and earth to energetically cleanse the body. People leave feeling they have been bathed in ‘love’.

Interwoven with my vision improvement studies and journey, I also became a Bach Flower Practioner. I took my Level 1 training in November of 2001, and my Level 2 training in July of 2005. There is a Level 3 which I want to take in the near future in England at the Bach Center where it all began. The ‘mother tinctures’ for the essences are still made in the gardens. I learned about Bach Flowers, particularly, Rescue Remedy through my Reiki studies and readings. Because it works at the emotional level, it is a wonderful complement to the emotional component of vision improvement. Most childhood nearsightedness has an emotional repression element.

I took my natural vision improvement teacher training in July 2003 with Tom Quackenbush. I have also studied with Peter Grunwald. At this point, I occasionally consciously use glasses. Primarily at night when driving to a new location, although I often find my intuition tells me where to turn before I can even find the street signs!
